For the Turned Heart, the Road Stays Open

ਤੀਨੇ ਤਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ਦੁਖ ਹੰਤਾ ਸੁਖ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
teenay taap nivaaranhaaraa dukh hantaa sukh raas.
The Lord is the One who removes the three fevers; He is the Destroyer of pain, the warehouse of peace.
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਬਿਘਨੁ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਲਾਗੈ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਗੈ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
taa ka-o bighan na ko-oo laagai jaa kee parabh aagai ardaas. ||1||
No obstacles block the path of one who prays before God. ||1||

In plain words

The One takes away the three great fevers, ends the pain, and holds a whole storehouse of peace.

And when a person truly prays, nothing can finally block their path.

For the heart that truly turns to the One, the road stays open even when it's rough.
The deeper layer

The "three fevers" (tarai taap) are the tradition's shorthand for the three kinds of suffering — bodily, mental, and the trouble that comes from the world around us. Naming the One "the warehouse of peace" (sukh kaa bhandaar) pictures an inexhaustible supply you can draw from. And the quiet promise: "No obstacles block the path of one who prays before God." Not that hard things vanish, but that the praying heart finds a way through them — the road stays open even when it's rough.

A Question to Sit With

What's the difference between a life with no problems and a life where you can always find a way through?
