In plain words

Mother, my mind is finally at rest.

I'm enjoying a happiness richer than a million royal treats — because remembering the One, all my pain has been sent packing.

The quiet peace of a settled mind is richer than a million royal luxuries.
The deeper layer

This one is short and bright. It is a shabad of arriving.

Maa-ee mayray man ko sukh — mother, my mind is at peace. Sukh means peace and ease. It is the calm the whole raag has been climbing toward. This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.

The comparison is big on purpose. Kot anand raaj sukh bhugvai — I enjoy the joys of millions of kingdoms. Picture the good life of a prince, times a million. Inner peace shines brighter than all of it.

The point isn't that pleasure is bad. It's that a settled mind is richer than any amount of luxury. Think of a quiet evening with your family after a hard week. It can feel better than any fancy party.

And where does it come from? Something simple. Har simrat binsai sabh dukh — remembering the One, all pain goes away.

A Question to Sit With

Would you rather have every treat in the world and a restless mind, or simple things and real peace? Why?
