Abandoning my Lord God, I have become entangled in duality. ||1||

In plain words

The One I love is so beautiful I can't even measure it — and sometimes I wander off and get tangled in lesser things.

But noticing that I've wandered is the first step back.

It's easy to wander off toward lesser things — but noticing you've wandered is the first step back.
The deeper layer

Guru Ram Das opens: "My Lord God is so beautiful. I do not know His worth. Abandoning my Lord, I have become entangled in duality." An honest confession of how we drift — dazzled by lesser things (doojaa, the second, the me-vs-them split) and forgetting the beauty right there. The qMonk voice keeps it hopeful: noticing you've wandered is the beginning of coming back.

A Question to Sit With

When you notice you've drifted away from something good, how do you find your way back?
