Some Things Are Too Endless to Grasp Alone

ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
vad-hans mehlaa 5.
Wadahans, Fifth Mehl:
ਤੂ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
too bay-ant ko virlaa jaanai.
You are infinite - only a few know this.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੧॥
gur parsaad ko sabad pachhaanai. ||1||
By Guru's Grace, some come to understand You through the Word of the Shabad. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are endless — and only a few really take that in.

With a little grace and wisdom, some begin to understand through good, true words.

Some things are so endless you can only begin to understand them with a little help and wisdom.
The deeper layer

"You are infinite — only a few know this. By Guru's Grace, some come to understand through the Shabad." The One's endlessness can't be grasped by cleverness; it's glimpsed through wisdom and grace. A humble opening.

A Question to Sit With

What's something so big that you can only begin to understand a small part of it?
