Real Truth Goes All the Way Down Inside

ਅੰਤਰੁ ਸਚਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੀ ਸਿਫਤਿ ਸਨਾਇ ॥
antar sachaa man sachaa sachee sifat sanaa-ay.
Deep within they are True, and their minds are True; they sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord.
ਸਚੈ ਥਾਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥੬॥
sachai thaan sach salaahnaa satgur balihaarai jaa-o. ||6||
In the true place, they praise the True Lord; I am a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||6||

In plain words

Deep inside they are true, their hearts are true, and they sing about what's true.

In that true place they praise the true One — I'm so grateful for the wisdom that shows the way.

Real truth goes all the way down inside you — not just the words on the outside.
The deeper layer

"Deep within they are True, and their minds are True." The emphasis falls on inner truth — truth all the way to the core, not just on the surface. Such people naturally sing the Praises "in the true place" (the heart turned toward the One). For a child: real truth goes all the way down inside, not just the words on the outside.

A Question to Sit With

What's the difference between telling the truth and being true all the way through?
