Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
When a heart is colored only by clinging, it's hard to understand what matters.
But a heart turned toward love lets the me-versus-them split fall away and fills up with truth.
Real understanding is a gift; when it comes, we melt gently into the good.
The shabad closes: hearts "colored by attachment" can't understand, but the gurmukh's heart, "imbued with the Lord's Love," lets "the love of duality depart" and its "warehouse overflows with Truth." And the humble close: "he alone merges whom the Lord causes to merge" — the final union is grace. The colophon (||4||5||) closes. For a child: a heart turned toward love lets the me-vs-them feeling fall away and fills right up with what's true.
How does turning toward love change the way you see people you disagree with?
