har naamo har naam dayvai mayraa ant sakhaa-ee raam.
He gives me the Name of the Lord, the Name of the Lord, my only companion in the end.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ॥
har har naam mayraa ant sakhaa-ee gur satgur naam drirh-aa-i-aa.
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is my only companion in the end; the Guru, the True Guru, has implanted the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within me.
ਜਿਥੈ ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤ੍ਰੁ ਕੋਈ ਬੇਲੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਛਡਾਇਆ ॥

It gives me the one companion that stays to the very end.
When other things can't come along, the good you carry inside still can.
Many things can't come with you everywhere — but the good you carry inside always can.
"The Name is my only companion in the end... there, where neither child nor spouse shall accompany you, the Name shall emancipate you." The memento mori is rendered gently: of everything, the goodness you carry inside is the one companion that stays all the way. For a child: many things can't come with you everywhere, but the good you carry inside always can.
