In plain words

Why fill your ears with words that don't last? They blow away like a gust of wind.

The ears worth having are the ones that listen to what's good and true.

What you choose to listen to matters — fill your ears with good, true things, not noise that blows away.
The deeper layer

This special composition alternates short Shaloks with longer Chhants, each celebrating a part of us made holy by turning toward the good. It opens with a Shalok about listening: "why listen to falsehood? It shall vanish like a gust of wind. Those ears are acceptable which listen to the True Master." What we choose to listen to shapes us — so fill your ears with what's true and lasting, not gossip and noise that blows away. For a child: what you choose to listen to matters — fill your ears with good, true things.

A Question to Sit With

What good things could you choose to listen to more often?
