Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The ones who long for the good are its truest friends.

And here's a secret: the good and the ones who love it aren't really separate at all.

The ones who love goodness most become so close to it that they're hardly separate from it at all.
The deeper layer

The fourth Shalok gives a profound truth: "those who long for the Lord are said to be His servants... the Lord is not different from His Saint." The one who truly loves the good and the good itself are, in the deepest sense, not separate. Longing itself makes you kin to what you long for. For a child: the ones who love goodness most become so close to it that they're hardly separate from it at all.

A Question to Sit With

Have you noticed people slowly become like what they love most?
