In plain words

Sometimes the good feels far away, and we miss it and long for it.

But that closeness returns the moment we let go of the me-versus-them feeling.

When the good feels far away, it comes right back the moment we let go of the me-versus-them feeling.
The deeper layer

A tender Shalok of Guru Nanak: "the soul-bride is at home while the Husband is away; she cherishes His memory and mourns His absence. She shall meet Him without delay, if she rids herself of duality." The longing is real — but the 'distance' isn't; the moment the ego-split (duality) dissolves, the reunion is instant. For a child: when the good feels far away, it comes right back the moment we let go of the me-versus-them feeling.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel close again to something good you've been missing?
