In plain words

Facing the Guru, you receive the Naam of the spotless One.

Facing the Guru, you burn away your ego through the Word.

Facing the Guru, you sing the praises of the True One.

Facing the Guru, you stay merged in the True One.

Facing the Guru, through the True Naam, you are honored and raised high.

Nanak says: facing the Guru, you come to understand all the worlds.

When ego burns away, you begin to understand the whole world.
The deeper layer

Burn away the ego in the Word, and understanding opens out to all the worlds.

Niranjan means spotless, without a stain. Haumai, ego, the feeling of being a separate self, burns in the Word like dry grass. Sagal bhavan kee sojhee, understanding of all the worlds, comes last, after the praise and the merging. This closes the long run of lines that each begin gurmukh.

A Question to Sit With

What might you understand better if you took your own ego out of the way?
