Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
That Word lives deep inside every being; the One is unseen, yet wherever I look, there the One is.
The air is the dwelling of the still One; the One has no qualities and holds all qualities.
When the One looks with grace, the Word comes to live in the heart, and doubt leaves from within.
Body and mind grow spotless through the spotless Word; keep the Naam in your mind.
The Word is the Guru that carries you across the frightening ocean; know only the One, here and hereafter.
The One has no mark or color, no shadow or illusion; Nanak says: recognize the Word.
The One has no shape, yet fills everything you see, and the Word is the Guru that carries you across.
Akal kalaa dhar, having no qualities yet holding all qualities, names the puzzle of the formless One. Sabad guroo, the Word is the Guru, sounds again, with chihan varan nahee, the One has no mark or color. The refrain, wherever I look, there the One is, sounds again too.
Can something be everywhere and still have no shape? What might that be like?
