They are dressed in robes of honor in the Court of the Lord; the Name of the Lord is on their lips. ||3||

In plain words

The unstruck melody is obtained — that deep inner sound of connection — and egotism is eliminated. Not suppressed. Eliminated, because there is simply nothing left for it to attach to.

I am forever a sacrifice to those who serve the True Guru — who give their lives in service of the teaching.

They are dressed in robes of honor. The Name is their greatest adornment.

When the noise of ego quiets, what was always playing underneath becomes audible.
The deeper layer

The Gurbani anaahat dhun (the unstruck melody of the Guru's word) is obtained through the practice of sevā (selfless service) and simran (remembrance). When the ego is eliminated, the sound that was always playing — underneath all the noise — becomes audible.

"Dressed in robes of honor" (patnaa paaey pat sio) — in the divine court, the robes are given based on inner quality, not outer status.

A Question to Sit With

What do you think is playing underneath all the noise of your daily mind — what's there when everything quiets?
