In plain words

O Siblings of Destiny — the Gurmukhs are honored forever. Not because they performed well, but because of what they genuinely are.

They meditate forever on the Lord and wash off the filth of egotism.

The washing is ongoing — not a one-time event. The ego needs daily attention the way the body does.

The ego-filth accumulates daily — and daily meditation removes it daily. There is no permanent clean.
The deeper layer

The rahao names honor (pat) as the condition of the Gurmukh — and identifies what removes the filth: meditation on the Name. Not ritual bathing, not ritual purification, but the jap (repetition/meditation) of the Name.

The haumai mael (filth of egotism) is washed off — the image is of accumulated grime being removed through the regular practice of the Name. Daily practice, daily cleaning.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you do every day to clear your head or reset — exercise, music, meditation, a walk? What does it actually clean?
