In plain words

The pleasures of other foods — the ones that aren't connected to this source — are false.

Eating them, the body is harmed. And more than that: wickedness and corruption find their way in through the mind.

What you consume shapes what you are. Not just food — but what you let in, what you dwell on, what you fill yourself with.

What you consume — food, thought, company — shapes what grows in you.
The deeper layer

First rahao in this series. The "false foods" are not specific items on a menu — they are anything consumed out of craving rather than genuine nourishment. The connection between consumption and character is a recurring theme in Gurbani.

This extends beyond literal food to everything we "eat" mentally and spiritually — the content we consume, the thoughts we ruminate on, the company we keep.

A Question to Sit With

What do you regularly let into your mind — shows, conversations, thoughts — and what does that produce in how you feel?
