The One Is My Brother, Friend, Mother, and Father

May I never forget God from my mind; He holds all in the Power of His Hands. ||2||

In plain words

The One is my Brother. The One is my Friend. The One is my Mother and Father.

The One is the Support of the mind. He has given us body and soul.

May I never forget God from my mind. He holds all in the power of His hands.

Every relationship humans seek — brother, friend, mother, father — is what the One actually is, beyond any human expression of it.
The deeper layer

Four relational terms — Brother, Friend, Mother, Father — all pointing to the One. Every category of relationship, every type of support and love that humans seek through human relationships, is described as actually fulfilled by the One.

Not "God is like a father" — Ek mera bhai, Ek mera meet, Ek maataa pitaa — He IS my Brother, IS my Friend, IS my Mother and Father. The relational language is not metaphor. It is the direct naming of what the One actually fulfills.

"He has given us body and soul" — tan man deeyaa — everything that makes the relationships possible, given by the One.

A Question to Sit With

Which of those relationships — brother, friend, mother, father — do you feel most need or most gratitude for? And what would it mean if the divine were the fullest expression of exactly that?
