In plain words

Chant the Lord's Name and contemplate the Lord of the World, twenty-four hours a day.

He preserves our soul, breath of life, body and wealth. By His Grace, He protects our soul.

O Nanak — all pain has been washed away by the Supreme Lord God, the Forgiver.

The Forgiving Lord washes away all pain — not manages, not reduces. Washes away completely.
The deeper layer

The closing pauri names the comprehensive protection of the Lord: jee pran tan dhan — soul, breath of life, body, wealth. All of it. Protected by His Grace. The protection is total.

Baksanhaar Prabhu — the Forgiving Lord. "All pain has been washed away" — not reduced, not managed. Washed (dhoe gaye). Clean. The Forgiver forgives entirely: what was there is gone.

This is the completion of the shabad: from "His value cannot be estimated" (Pauri 2) through the full protection and comprehensive forgiveness.

A Question to Sit With

What would it feel like to be completely forgiven — not partially, not with conditions, but completely? Is there something you carry that you have not yet experienced as forgiven?
