In plain words

God is Wise, Giving, Tender-hearted, Pure, Beautiful, and Infinite.

He is our Companion and Helper, Supremely Great, Lofty, and Utterly Infinite.

He is not known as young or old. His Court stands steady and firm.

Whatever we seek from Him, we receive. He is the Support of the unsupported.

The divine is Wise, Giving, Tender-hearted, Pure, Beautiful, and Infinite — and specializes in supporting those who have no support.
The deeper layer

Guru Arjan lists what the One is like, the way you might describe someone you love.

Daanaa daataa seelvant nirmal roop apaar means the One is wise, giving, gentle, pure, beautiful, and without end. These are not labels in a textbook. They are the words you use about a Beloved.

Sakhaa sahaa-ee means companion and helper. Nidhaaraa aadhaar means the support of those with no support. The One holds up those who have no one else to lean on. This matches another Guru's words, Guru Ram Das, who calls the One the honor of those without honor. The One has a special care for the people the world leaves behind.

Baalak biradh na jaanee-ai means the One is not young or old. Nihchal tis darvaar means His Court stands steady and firm. Human courts and rulers rise and fall. The One's Court lasts forever.

Think of a friend who is always there, whatever time you call. The One is like that friend, always.

A Question to Sit With

When you are at your most unsupported — most alone, most without resources — where do you actually turn? What does that reveal about what you most fundamentally trust?
