Why Some Hearts Turn Is a Mystery; the Door Is Open
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
It's a mystery why some hearts turn toward the One and some don't — it's not fully in our own hands.
But through true wisdom, the One becomes known — and then we melt into it easily, without a struggle.
The Pauree sits honestly with mystery: why do some hearts turn toward the One and others wander? Nothing is fully in the power of these beings — we don't entirely author our own turning; grace is involved in ways we can't map. Rather than explain it all away, the verse hands it back to the One and points to the door that is open: by Guru's Grace You are known. And the beautiful ending: once known, we are easily absorbed in You — no strain, no struggle. The mystery of why isn't ours to solve; the invitation to turn toward wisdom is ours to accept, and when we do, the merging is gentle.
Is it okay to leave some big 'why' questions unanswered and just walk through the door that's open?
