In plain words

What's really inside you eventually comes out — words alone are just air.

You can't plant something harmful and expect something sweet to grow. What you sow is what you get.

What's truly inside you comes out anyway — and you can't plant something harmful and harvest something sweet.
The deeper layer

A plain-spoken truth: whatever is in the mind comes forth; spoken words by themselves are just wind. You can say anything, but what's genuinely inside you eventually shows — in your actions, your tone, how you treat people. And the farmer's justice: he sows seeds of poison and demands nectar — what justice is this? You can't plant unkindness and expect sweetness to grow; you reap what you plant. For a child this joins two clear ideas: be real (your insides show anyway, so tend them), and remember that your actions are seeds — plant good ones if you want good fruit.

A Question to Sit With

If your actions are like seeds, what kind would you want to be planting?
