In plain words

Someone acting foolishly tends to get things wrong even when they're trying.

Get one thing right, and the next one slips — because the trouble is in the approach, not just the task.

When the approach is careless, even the wins are flukes — wisdom in HOW you do things is what makes results last.
The deeper layer

A wry little observation: if a fool does a job, he cannot do it right; even if he does one thing right, he does the next thing wrong. The point isn't to mock anyone; 'fool' here means someone acting without wisdom or care. When the approach is careless, success is accidental and doesn't last — one thing lands, the next slips. The quiet lesson is that how you go about things — with attention, humility, wisdom — matters more than luck on any single task. Fix the approach, and the results follow steadily; leave the approach careless, and even your wins are flukes.

A Question to Sit With

Why does HOW you approach a task matter more than getting lucky on one try?
