In plain words

Those who were left behind, the One brings to the front. The One fills the hopes of the hopeless.

The One makes the poor rich, and heals the sickness of the sick.

The One gives the gift of loving devotion to those who love, and they sing the praises of the Naam of Raam.

The Supreme One is the Great Giver. Nanak says: serving the Guru, what is there that cannot be found?

No one is too far back for the One to lift to the front.
The deeper layer

The One lifts up the left-behind, the hopeless, the poor and the sick.

Paachhan karot agarneeveh: those at the back are brought to the front. Niraasan aas poornah: the hopes of the hopeless are filled. NirDhan bha-yan Dhanvantah: the poor become rich. Rogee-an rog khandnah: the sick are healed.

Bhagat-ya bhagat daana: those who love the One are given love itself as a gift, and they sing raam naam gun keertaneh, the praises of the Naam. The salok ends with a question: gur sayvaa kin na labh-yatai, by serving the Guru, what cannot be found?

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever felt left out or overlooked? What would it mean to know the One lifts the left-behind to the front?
