In plain words

I have come to the shelter of the One's lotus feet, and there I sing the praise of the Lord of the World.

Nanak says: in the Sangat, I am carried across the terrifying world-ocean that is so hard to cross.

You do not have to cross the rough water alone — you are carried.
The deeper layer

Nobody has to cross life's rough water alone; in the Sangat, we are carried.

The speaker has come to rest at the One's lotus feet, a picture for staying close in love. There, he sings praise, called keertan. And in the Sangat he is carried across a huge and frightening ocean.

That ocean is life itself, with all its big waves and far-off shore.

Think of a lifeguard carrying a tired swimmer to the beach. The swimmer did not win by strength. They were carried. That is the comfort here. The crossing is not a solo race. We are carried.

A Question to Sit With

When life feels overwhelming, like too much to handle, who or what helps carry you through?
