The One who lifts the world, the nine treasures, carries the devotees across the ocean of the world.
A drop of nectar, the Naam of the One, takes away the poison of wrongdoing.
The tree of calm has blossomed, and it hangs with the sweet fruit of wisdom.
Blessed are those lucky people who receive it, by the Guru's grace.
Through the True Guru's Word they are set free, and their minds are filled with the Guru's wisdom.
Kal says: Guru Ram Das, you have beaten the drum of the Word for all to hear.
One drop of the Naam is enough to take away poison.
Amrit boond, one drop of nectar, stands against bis, poison: a small true thing outweighs a large false one. The tree (tarovar) and its fruit of wisdom (gi-aan) picture growth over time. Sabad neesaan bajaa-i-a-o, beating the drum of the Word, is a royal picture: the teaching is announced openly, for everyone.
