Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My mind is pierced through by the lotus feet of the One.

I am blessed with every happiness.

Nanak says: holy people have been singing this Gaathaa since the very beginning of time.

You are joining a song of joy that has been sung since the beginning.
The deeper layer

When love for the One goes deep into the mind, every kind of happiness follows.

Charnaarbind man biDh-ya(n): the mind is pierced by the lotus feet, the way a needle passes through a flower to string it on a garland. SiDh-ya(n) sarab kusalneh: every happiness is won.

Gaathaa gavant bhab-ya(n): good and holy people sing this Gaathaa. Paraa poorabneh: they have sung it from the very beginning. Whoever sings it today joins a very old song.

A Question to Sit With

What is a song or ritual that connects you to people long before you?
