O Lord! If such destiny is inscribed upon my forehead, I am absorbed in the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||9||

In plain words

Above, the sky is lovely; below, the earth is beautiful.

Lightning flashes in all ten directions, and I see the face of my Beloved.

I wander, searching in faraway lands — where can my Beloved be found?

O Lord! If good fortune is written on my forehead, I melt into the sight of the One.

Sky, earth and lightning all show the face of the Beloved.
The deeper layer

The beauty of sky and earth shows the face of the Beloved, and the seeker longs to be one with it.

Oopar banai akaas talai Dhar sohtee: the sky above is lovely, the earth below is beautiful. Dah dis chamkai beejul: lightning flashes in every direction, and in its light the Beloved's face shines.

Khojat fira-o bidays: I go searching in foreign lands. Daras samaa-ee-ai: if it is written for me, I merge into the sight of the One. The searching ends in the One's own gift.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you notice beauty that feels like a glimpse of something greater?
