In plain words

The first part of the night brings flowers, and the last part of the night brings fruit.

Those who stay awake receive gifts from the Master.

The night brings flowers, then fruit — the gifts go to those awake.
The deeper layer

Those who stay awake in the night receive the Master's gifts.

Pahilai pahrai fulrhaa: in the first watch of the night, a flower. Fal bhee pachhaa raat: and in the late night, the fruit. Remembering the One in the evening is like a flower opening; remembering in the hours before dawn is like the fruit ripening.

Saa-ee kanno daat: the gift from the Master. Think of a farmer who rises early to pick fruit while it is fresh. The gift is there for whoever is awake to take it.

A Question to Sit With

What could you notice if you were awake and quiet before everyone else?
