In plain words

The gifts belong to our Master. Who can force the Master to give them?

Some are awake and still do not receive them, and some are asleep, and the Master wakes them up to bless them.

The Master's gifts are grace — no one can force them.
The deeper layer

The Master's gifts are given freely, and no one can force them.

Daatee saahib sandee-aa: the gifts are the Master's own. Ki-aa chalai tis naal: what can anyone do to push the Master? Right after the salok about staying awake, this one adds a surprise.

Ik jaaganday naa lahni: some stay awake and do not get the gift. Others are sleeping, and the Master shakes them awake to give it. Staying awake is good, but the gift is still grace, a present always waiting to be given.

A Question to Sit With

What is a gift you were given that you never could have earned?
