I would cross the oceans, mountains, wilderness, forests and the nine regions of the earth in a single step, O Musan, for the Love of my Beloved. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Oceans and mountains, wild lands and forests, all nine regions of the earth —

O Musan, for the love of my Beloved, I would count them all as a single step.

When you love deeply enough, no distance feels far.
The deeper layer

For the Beloved's love, the whole wide earth feels like one step.

The verse speaks to Musan, a friend named often in the Chaubolay. It lists saagar, the oceans, mayr, the mountains, wild lands and forests, and nav khand, the nine regions of the earth. For love of the Beloved, all of it counts as ayk kar karam, a single step.

A Question to Sit With

How far would you go for someone you love?
