Savaiye in Praise of Guru Angad, Verse 9 — Truth is his bath and his food

The True Name is his holy place, his cleansing bath and his food. Truth is his love forever. Speaking Truth, he shines.
He found Truth through the Guru's Shabad, and the Sangat is fragrant with the True Name.
Kal the poet says: I praise the one whose self-control is Truth and whose fast is Truth.
Seeing the Guru, a life is accepted in Truth.
Truth, sach, is Guru Angad's holy place, his bath and his food: the stuff his whole day is made of.
Sach tirath sach isnaan: Truth is the pilgrimage and the bath. Sach naam sangtee bohai: the True Name fills the Sangat with its fragrance. Even his self-control and his fasting are simply living in Truth.
Sach means what lasts, the way a good dye stays in cloth. The bard is Kal.
