You are the True Guru through all four ages. You Yourself are the Highest Lord.
Angels, seekers, people of great powers and Sikhs have served You from the very beginning.
You are the first One, from the start of the ages and before every start. Your power holds up the three worlds.
You are beyond reach. You are the saving grace of the Vedas. You have won over old age and death.
Guru Amar Das set You firmly in place. You carry everyone across to the other side.
Sall the poet says: Guru Ram Das, You destroy wrongs. I come to Your shelter.
The True Guru has been here through every age, and Sall asks for the Guru's shelter.
Too satgur chahu jugee — you are the True Guru through all four ages. A jug is an age, a very long stretch of time. Sall says the Guru and the Highest are not two.
