Savaiye in Praise of Guru Arjun (Bhatt Mathura), Verse 4 — the One no one can measure, near to the humble

All the gods, the silent sages, Indra, Shiva and the yogis have never found where the One ends.
Not even Brahma, who studies the Vedas, could find it. I will not stop remembering the One, not for a single moment.
Mathura says: the One I love is kind to the humble, and lifts up the Sangat all over the world.
To carry the world across, Guru Ram Das placed the Guru's light in Guru Arjun.
The One who cannot be measured is kind to the humble. Even the greatest beings of old stories never found the One's edge.
Indra, Shiva, the silent sages, and the yogis are named here, and Brahma, who studies the Vedas. They are honored as sincere seekers, and even they could not reach the end of how vast the One is.
Then the verse turns. Deen da-yaal means kind to the humble. The One no one can measure comes near to the small and meek. Think of a great teacher who kneels down to help the youngest child in the class. The highest is not reached by rank. It is received by the humble. This is at the heart of the Bani: everyone stands level before the One.
The bard Mathura says he will not stop remembering the One, not for a moment. The One lifts up the sangat, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — all over the world. To help carry the world across, Guru Ram Das placed the Guru's light in Guru Arjun.
