Salok Vaaraan Te Vadheek (Mehl 5), Salok 136 — held safe, imbued with a love none can erase
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
No one can strike down the ones the One protects.
The treasure of the Naam is inside them, and they keep the One's goodness in their hearts always.
They lean on the One alone, the One beyond reach, and keep the One in mind and body.
They are colored with a love that has no end, and no one can wash it off.
Turning to the Guru, they sing the One's praises and find calm, easy peace.
Nanak says: they wear the treasure of the Naam on their hearts like a necklace.
Those the One protects are held safe, and the love that colors them cannot be washed away.
Jo prabh rakhay aap: those the One protects; tin ko-ay na maar-ee: no one can strike them down. Naam niDhaan: the treasure of the Naam lives inside. Aykaa tayk: one support, the One alone.
Lagaa rang apaar ko na utaara-ee: the endless color of love, which no one can take off. Ridai ur haar-ee: the Naam worn on the heart like a necklace. The safety here is the safety of a heart held by the One.
What makes you feel safe on the inside?
