Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
Those dyed in love with their Husband, the One, sleep in peace.
Those separated from the love of their Master cry out all day and all night.
*Love brings both the peace of nearness and the ache of longing.*
A heart dyed in love for the One rests in peace; a heart apart from that love cries out.
Sutrhay sukhee: they sleep in peace, jo ratay sah aapnai, who are dyed in love with their Husband. Paraym vichhohaa: separated from love. Athay pahar: all eight watches of the day and night, they cry out. The crying is the sound of missing someone you love.
