In plain words

Those who forget the Naam and get stuck in greed and lies

are tangled in the business of Maya, the world that pulls at us, with the fire of wanting burning inside.

Like a stubborn pumpkin vine that will not climb the trellis, they are cheated by Maya, the cheat.

Those who follow their own will are tied up and led away; a dog does not belong in a herd of cows.

The One leads some astray, and the One brings them back together.

Nanak says: those who turn to the Guru are saved, walking in step with the True Guru's will.

Forgetting the Naam leaves us tangled, and walking in the True Guru's will sets us free.
The deeper layer

Forgetting the Naam leaves a person tangled and cheated; turning to the Guru sets them free.

Jinee naam visaari-aa: those who forget the Naam fall into laalach, greed, with tisnaa ag, the fire of wanting, inside. Maa-i-aa thagay thag: Maya, the pull of the world, cheats them. The manmukh, the one who follows their own will, is pictured tied and led away, and like a dog among cows, naa milhee vag sag, does not fit in the herd.

Aap bhulaa-ay bhulee-ai aapay mayl milaa-ay: the One leads astray and the One brings back. Gurmukh chhutee-ai: the one who turns to the Guru and walks in the True Guru's will is freed.
