In plain words

The Gurmukhs — those who turn to the Guru — never grow old; inside them is awareness and wisdom.

Forever and ever they sing the praises of the One; deep inside they meditate in calm, natural ease.

They live always in joy and clear understanding; pain and pleasure are the same to them.

Wherever they look, they see only the One; they know the One, the Soul of all, in everything.

Those who see the One in everything stay steady in pain and pleasure alike.
The deeper layer

Those who turn to the Guru stay young inside, steady in pain and pleasure, seeing the One everywhere.

Gurmukh budhay kaday naahee: the Gurmukhs never grow old, because inside them is surat gi-aan, awareness and wisdom, and the source of that does not age. Bibayk, clear understanding, lets them meet dukh sukh ayk samaan, pain and pleasure as the same. Their roots go so deep that gain and loss do not shake them. This is sahj, natural balance.

Iko aa-i-aa: only the One comes into their sight, the aatam raam, the Soul in everyone.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you stay steady on a day when everything seems to go wrong?
