ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਸੋਈ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥
hukam boojhai so-ee parvaan.
He alone, who understands the Command of the Lord's Will, is approved.
ਸਾਚੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨੀਸਾਨੁ ॥੩॥
saach sabad jaa kaa neesaan. ||3||
The True Shabad of the Word of God is his trademark and insignia. ||3||

The one who understands Your Will is approved;
the True Word is his mark and emblem.
The soul aligned with the Will wears the Word as its mark.
Acceptance comes to "one who understands the Command of the Lord's Will," and his identifying mark — his "trademark and insignia" — is "the True Shabad." The soul aligned with the Hukam wears the Word as its sign, the way a craftsman stamps his work.
