Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

O Saints, my friends, without the One you shall perish.

Join the company of the holy, sing His praises, and win this precious treasure of human life.

This human life is a treasure to be won — don't waste it changing costumes.
The deeper layer

This is the pause line, the Rahao, the center of the shabad. It names what is at stake, and the way to win.

Saajan sant hamaaray meetaa — O saints, my friends. Without the One, the verse says, you will perish. But join the Saadh Sangat, the company of good people, and sing the One's praises. Then you win ih janam padaarath, this treasure of a human life.

Think of a game where you get one special life. You would not spend it walking in circles, changing outfits. Human life is a treasure like that, to be used well.

A Question to Sit With

What would it mean to 'win' this life rather than wander through it?
