I cannot even survive, without the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. But I shall easily unite with the Guru, if He unites me in His Union. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

The Guru, the Lord of the World, is so dear to my mind.

I cannot go on without seeing that blessed sight. With easy calm I will meet the One, when the Guru brings me into that meeting.

You can long for the One deeply, and still the meeting comes with gentle ease.
The deeper layer

You can long for the One with your whole heart, and the meeting comes with ease, through the Guru.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. It is pure longing: reh na saka-o darsan daykhay bin, I cannot go on without the darshan, the blessed sight of the One. And the meeting, when it comes, is sahj: easy, natural, unforced, arranged by the Guru. Deep longing and gentle ease sit together: you ache for the One, and yet the meeting itself is soft and given, not wrestled for.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone you miss so much that just seeing them makes everything better?
