Home With Honor

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕੀ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥

The Lord cherishes all beings and creatures.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਦ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲ ॥
gur parsaadee sad samHaal.
By Guru's Grace, contemplate Him forever.
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
dar saachai pat si-o ghar jaa-ay.
You shall go to your true home in the Lord's Court with honor.

naanak naam vadaa-ee paa-ay. ||4||3||
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, you shall be blessed with glorious greatness. ||4||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One cares for every being and every creature.

By the Guru's grace, keep the One in mind always.

Through the True Door, you will go home with honor.

Nanak says: through the Naam, you are blessed with greatness.

Held close to the One, you are cared for now and welcomed home with honor.
The deeper layer

The One cares for every creature, and keeping the One in mind brings you home with honor.

Jee-a jant kee karay partipaal: the One looks after every living being. Gur parsaadee sad samhaal: by the Guru's grace, keep the One in mind always. Dar saachai pat si-o ghar jaa-ay: you go home through the True Door, with honor. Naam vadaa-ee: greatness comes through the Naam, and status has nothing to do with it.
