One who worships the Lord within his mind,

The True Guru has shown me the One Lord. ||1||

In plain words

The one who worships inside, from within the mind,

sees the One and only One, and no other.

People caught in two-ness, splitting the world into me and the One far away, have suffered great pain.

The True Guru has shown me the One.

The truest worship happens quietly inside, where you see the One in everything.
The deeper layer

Worship happens inside you, and there you see the One alone.

Antar poojaa man tay ho-ay — worship rises from within, from the mind. It lives in more than what we do on the outside. And there, inside, ayko vaykhai — a person sees the One, and no other.

Doojai means living in two-ness: me over here, and the One somewhere far away. Doojai lokee bahut dukh paa-i-aa — people living split like that carry a lot of pain. It is haumai, the ego, making us feel cut off. Think of a phone that has lost its WiFi signal. It is in the same house as the router. It just cannot feel the connection. The ache is real, and it is needless.

The Guru's gift is simple. Satgur maino ayk dikhaa-i-aa — the True Guru showed me the One. The One was in everything all along.

A Question to Sit With

Where do you feel closest to what matters most to you: outside, or quietly inside?
