This mind blossoms forth, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

My One is in bloom, forever spring.

This mind blossoms too, singing the praises of the Lord of the Universe.

The One is forever in bloom, and singing the One's praises makes your own heart blossom open.
The deeper layer

The One is always in bloom, and a mind that sings the One's praises blossoms too.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. It also holds the heart of Raag Basant, the spring melody.

Mayraa parabh ma-oli-aa sad basant — my One is in bloom, always spring. Then: ih man ma-oli-aa — and this mind blossoms too.

Picture a garden in spring. One tree bursts into flowers, and soon the whole garden seems to catch it. That is what happens when you sing the One's praises. Your heart opens the way a flower opens in the sun.

A Question to Sit With

What makes your heart feel like it is opening up, the way a flower opens in spring?
