The Secret Only a Few Taste

ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਸਦ ਵੇਖੈ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥
bhagat karay sad vaykhai hajoor.
Worship Him with devotion, and see Him always ever-present, close at hand.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
mayraa parabh sad rahi-aa bharpoor.
My God is forever permeating and pervading all.
ਇਸੁ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
is bhagtee kaa ko-ee jaanai bhay-o.
Only a rare few know the mystery of this devotional worship.
ਸਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਤਮ ਦੇਉ ॥੩॥
sabh mayraa parabh aatam day-o. ||3||
My God is the Enlightener of all souls. ||3||

In plain words

Love the One with devotion, and you see the One always close at hand.

My One is forever filling everything.

Only a rare few know the secret of this devotion.

All of it is my One, the Light of every soul.

The secret only a few taste is that everything, everywhere, is the One.
The deeper layer

When you love the One with all your heart, you start to see the One everywhere.

Bhagat means loving devotion. Through it, a person sees the One hajoor — right here, always present. And bharpoor — filling everything, the way air fills every corner of a room.

Is bhagtee kaa ko-ee jaanai bhay-o — only a rare few know the bhay-o, the secret, of this love. The secret is simple and huge at the same time. Sabh mayraa parabh aatam day-o — it is all my One, the Light of every soul.

This is not a fact to memorize for a test. It is more like tasting a mango for the first time. Someone can describe it to you. But you only know when you taste it. Oneness is something you feel.

A Question to Sit With

What is a big truth that you can only understand by feeling it, not just being told?
