This Mind Turns Green

ਏ ਮਨ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
ay man hari-aa sahj subhaa-ay.
This mind is rejuvenated, with intuitive ease;
ਸਚ ਫਲੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sach fal laagai satgur bhaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
loving the True Guru, it bears the fruit of truth. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This mind turns green again, easily and naturally.

Loving the True Guru, it bears the fruit of truth.

A mind can bloom as naturally as a tree in spring.
The deeper layer

Your mind can turn green with ease, and loving the Guru, it bears the fruit of truth.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Sach fal is the fruit of truth, sach meaning what is true and lasting. Sahj subhaa-ay means with natural ease, the way a tree in spring leafs out without straining.

A Question to Sit With

What is one true thing your life could grow if you gave it the right care?
