ਸੋ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
so boojhai jis aap bujhaa-ay.
He alone understands, whom the Lord Himself causes to understand.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਏ ॥
satgur sayvaa naam darirh-aa-ay.
Serving the True Guru, the Naam is implanted within.
ਜਿਨ ਇਕੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
jin ik jaataa say jan parvaan.
Those humble beings who know the One Lord are approved and accepted.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਦਰਿ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੧੦॥
naanak naam ratay dar neesaan. ||4||10||
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, they go to the Lord's Court with His banner and insignia. ||4||10||

Only the one whom the One helps to understand can understand.
Serving the True Guru, the Naam is planted deep inside.
Those who know the One are accepted and welcomed.
Nanak says: those dyed in the Naam arrive at the One's court carrying the One's banner.
Understanding arrives like a gift, not a grab.
Understanding is a gift: you understand when the One helps you understand.
So boojhai jis aap bujhaa-ay: one understands only when the One gives the understanding; wisdom as grace. Dirhaa-ay: firmly planted, through serving the Guru. Dar neesaan: arriving at the One's door with the banner, the same banner as in the pause line.
