Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
O my mother, I speak of the One's good qualities and think them over.
Remembering the One, I fall at the One's feet.
Naming the good you love helps it grow in you.
Speak of the One's goodness, think it over, and bow in love.
This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Gun aakh veechaaree: speaking and reflecting on the One's goodness; praise is a way of taking it in. Mayree maa-ay: O my mother, a tender way of speaking that comes often in these shabads. Laga-o paa-ay: I fall at the feet, bowing in love.
