ਊਤਮੁ ਊਚਾ ਸਬਦ ਕਾਮੁ ॥
ootam oochaa sabad kaam.
The most lofty and exalted occupation is to contemplate the Word of the Shabad.

The highest and finest work of all is to think deeply on the Word.
Nanak says: I chant the True Naam.
The finest work of all is keeping the Word close.
The finest work of a human life is thinking deeply on the Word.
Ootam oochaa sabad kaam: the highest and finest work is the Word. Vakhaanai saach naam: speaks the True Naam. The single lines end where they began, with chanting.
