Basant, Third Mehl:
ਬਸੰਤੁ ਚੜਿਆ ਫੂਲੀ ਬਨਰਾਇ ॥
basant charhi-aa foolee banraa-ay.
Spring has come, and all the plants are flowering.
ਏਹਿ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਫੂਲਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
ayhi jee-a jant fooleh har chit laa-ay. ||1||
These beings and creatures blossom forth when they focus their consciousness on the Lord. ||1||

Spring has come, and all the plants are bursting into flower.
In the same way, every living creature blossoms when it turns its mind to the One.
A life blossoms when it turns toward the One.
Spring outside and spring inside are one movement: you blossom when your mind turns to the One.
Basant charhi-aa foolee banraa-ay: spring has come, and the whole woodland flowers. Ayhi jee-a jant fooleh har chit laa-ay: these living beings blossom when they fix their attention on the One. Think of a sunflower turning its face to the sun. The turning is what helps it grow.
