The True Guru speaks the Bani of the Word, and the Shabad, the Word of God.
ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਏ ॥੨॥
ih jag hari-aa satgur bhaa-ay. ||2||
This world blossoms forth in its greenery, through the love of the True Guru. ||2||

Through love for the True Guru, this whole world turns green and blossoms.
Love spoken into cold ground makes the whole world green.
The Guru's Word, received with love, turns the whole world green.
Satgur banee sabad sunaa-ay: the True Guru lets you hear the Word. Ih jag hari-aa satgur bhaa-ay: this world turns green through the Guru's love. Love works like the warmth of spring on cold ground. Wherever it reaches, things begin to grow.
