Practicing hypocrisy and superstition, people have grown weary of the effort, but still, deep within their hearts, they yearn for Maya, Maya.

By the Grace of the Holy Person, I have met with the Lord, the Primal Being, and the darkness of ignorance is dispelled. ||3||

In plain words

People wear themselves out with pretending and superstition, yet deep in their hearts they still hunger for Maya, Maya, the world's shiny riches.

Through the holy one, I have met the One, the first and greatest Being, and the darkness of not-knowing is gone.

Pretending is exhausting; truth turns the lights on all at once.
The deeper layer

Pretending wears you out, and meeting the One clears the darkness away.

Pakhand bharam upaav kar thaakay: people grow weary with pakhand, putting on a show of holiness, and bharam, superstition and doubt. Every faith can fall into this, and it is the hollow show that tires people, never the faith itself. Rid antar maa-i-aa maa-i-aa: inside, the heart still cries for maya, the pull of money and things. Saadhoo purakh purakhpat paa-i-aa: through the holy one, the greatest Being is found. Agi-aan anDhayr gavaa-i-aa: the darkness of not-knowing is gone. Think of walking into a dark room and someone switching on the light.

A Question to Sit With

When has understanding something suddenly made a worry disappear?
